We plan to release the circuit diagrams/PCB layout/etc under the GNU General Public License soon so you can make your own Sens-r nodes, and maybe even contribute to the project. If you are interested in the project (or have any comments/suggestions) please email joseph.violi [at] eng.monash.edu.au.

Sens-r nodes provide a low cost (<A$100/node) testbed for experimentation of mobile wireless sensor network(WSN) algorithms. Infrared is used as the communications medium as it is easy to 'block', using a sheet of cardboard (or similar), allowing link failures to be simulated in a small area (eg, classroom or lab).
