David's Method:

  1. Go to Journal citation reports Science Edition. If this doesn't work:
    1. Go to databases in the library web site
    2. Type in citations in the search box on the right hand side
    3. Scroll down to Journal citation reports Science Edition (connect) and select that
  2. Select search for a specific journal
  3. Search for your journal by any of the methods provided
  4. Click on your journal and, in the current interface, you should be provided with lots of information including the impact factor and how it is calculated.
  5. In the journal information box you will find the subject categories into which that journal has been classified. To see the jorunal rank in any category - click View Journal Summary
  6. This brings up a list that in my view is misleading but not to the careful reader who will note that the list is sorted alphabetically and the "rank" quoted is the alphabetical rank. Go to the "sorted by box" and choose Impact factor and sort again. Now you have a true rank list (by impact factor).
