No Preparation and No Slides: How to get away with impromptu presentations.

Abstract:

Confidence when presenting is a criticial skill for researchers. With little or no preparation, Greg will provide an example of how to do an adequate job of improvising a presentation.

Discussion is encouraged during this seminar, which will probably cover:

Knowing your topic. Making the best of informality. Limiting reliance on slides and PowerPoint?(TM). Encouraging interaction with the group. Measured technical detail. Language confidence and mistakes. Being confident without being a fool.

Greg is currently a PhD? candidate within CTIE, who sidelines as a Research Fellow and co-Chair of the IETF working group on Detecting Network Attachment.

All of his presentations are informal.
