The demand for wireless communication services is growing and is predicted to grow at a rapid pace in the recent years. One of the promising technologies that could improve the efficiency of the wireless communication systems is MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) technology. It refers to the use of multiple antennas at both end of the wireless link.

The current research in this field aims to find the optimum integration of this technology in the current and future wireless systems. Within this broad objective my current research concentrates on evaluating the performance of various existing and new schemes that would realize the full capacity of WCDMA MIMO systems.

In this presentation some of the promising schemes would be discussed and their performance compared. The methodology employed and the analytical approach taken to compare the schemes would also be discussed briefly.
