CVS release 20040621

Released as tarball with embedded RPM spec file. To optionally build as rpm see Build And Install IPv6Suite RPM for details.

CVS release 20040608

To extract tarball see MainProcedureIfYouDoNotHaveRootAccess? for instructions.

Mobile IPv6 RPM release

Due to popular demand for IPv6Suite as a system library some changes were made to allow the headers to be installed to /usr/include/ipv6suite. Libraries to /usr/lib and supporting files in /usr/share/ipv6suite. These changes do not affect existing developers at all and the previous build procedure will still work. This change was done to allow users to build their own network directory outside of the IPv6Suite source directory.

NOTE If you are going to be doing more than just simulations with the existing code, like adding new protocols or debugging, we suggest you extract the tarball from the src.rpm and install it into your home directory (See MainProcedureIfYouDoNotHaveRootAccess? for instructions on tarball extraction from rpm).

RPM Build Instructions:

Mobile IPv6 release (0.92 beta2)

HMIPv6 has been rewritten to reuse MIPv6 code and tested. Reverse tunnelling was added so route optimisation can be turned off via routeOptimisation attribute for local element. routingInfoDisplay ini parameter was added and can be turned on for any host. This makes it easier to debug incorrect routes with traceroute like information in the terminal i.e.

hostname simtime source destination packet length

Mobile IPv6 release (0.92 beta)

We have decided to release the Mobile IPv6 sources as some people have asked for them. It is complemented by an IEEE 802.11b WLAN model (credit goes to Steve Woon and Eric Wu). It is functional but not well documented from a user perspective. There are some handover optimisations that can be turned on like L2 triggers, Fast Solicited Router Advertisements and Optimistic DAD. The HMIPv6 implementation has not been fixed yet as I am in the process of patching it to complement the more stable MIPv6. Some things are missing like reverse tunnelling (it is using route optimisation) and return routability which will be added later. There are no plans to implement security and DHAAD at this stage however we welcome any contributions in this area in the form of patches. Any comments and suggestions are also welcome.
